Product Information
WCW Nitro for Windows 95 is a professional wrestling game featuring 18 default WCW/NWO wrestlers and dozens of hidden wrestlers, managers, and game designers. The game features seven play modes: three for single players, three for multiple players, and one for single or multiple players.

In the one-player tournament, a single player selects a WCW or NWO superstar and battles against ten other wrestlers on the way to the WCW championship belt. Once a player wins the belt with a wrestler, the game unlocks a hidden character. There is a total of 54 hidden characters in the game, and a different wrestler unlocks each one.

In a one-player exhibition match, a single player selects a wrestler and a wrestling opponent and heads to the ring to battle it out. The exhibition matches do not unlock hidden characters, but they can be a good way to learn a particular wrestler's moves.

In the two-player VS match, two players select two wrestlers to mix it up in the ring. This type of match is also an exhibition match and will not unlock any hidden characters.

In a one-player exhibition tag team match, a single player selects two wrestlers and two computer opponents for a two-on-two rumble. When one wrestler becomes tired, he can tag his partner to come in and grapple.

In a two-player VS tag team match, two players select two wrestling tag teams and square off against one another. The first team to pin an opponent wins.

In Battle Royal Mode, one or two human players can take on the world in a 16-wrestler battle. The winner is the last wrestler standing, and the losers are the wrestlers who get tossed over the top rope. Whenever an opponent tosses a human player's character, that player takes control of the next wrestler to enter the ring. If the number of remaining wrestlers is four or less, and the human player's character is tossed, then that player's game is finished.

Finally, players with access to a local area network, the Internet, or a direct modem connection can connect to different games of WCW Nitro and play against remote players. Players can choose to create sessions or join sessions created by other players.

In all match modes, players can win by pin, by decision at the bell, or by a count out. Players can turn off the match timer for pin-only matches, and they can set the count out timer to "unlimited" so that the referee does not count wrestlers out when they are outside the ring.

Players can also choose to have match interference from other wrestlers. Whenever a character has extremely low energy, a friendly wrestler can run from backstage to interfere with the match. Computer wrestlers can also have friends interfere with the match.

Players can save and reload games of WCW Nitro for play in different game sessions.
